Why Do Democrats Want To End The U.S. - Israeli Relationship? Part III

I said I would speak about the DAWN (Democracy for the Arab World) annual gala at which Senator Van Hollen was the keynote speaker.  Who was at the dinner with him?  The Executive Director (Nihad Awad) of CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations).  CAIR, you may recall, was an undicted co-conspirator in the 2007/2008 Holy Land Foundation terror trial.  Awad said he was "happy to see" the Hamas attack of 10/7.  Also present was Francesca Albanese, who, as Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories (the title alone tells you that Israel is guilty) has quite the reputation for being anti-Israel.

Of course, Van Hollen said the usual stuff - Israel being guilty of genocide, Netanyahu being a war criminal.  Of more interest is the the fact that in 2025 DAWN produced a deck of 50 cards with pictures.  Of who?  The 41 board members of AIPAC (the American Israel Public Affairs Committee) and its 9 executives.  This was not unlike the cards made by the U.S. of Iraqi officials.  But here, we are talking about the names and faces of American citizens.  DAWN was making AIPAC board members and executives targets.  Because, G-d knows, we haven't seen enough targeting of Jews since 10/7.  Disgusting!

Let's briefly talk about a couple of other Democrats.  Abdul El-Sayed recently debated Mike Rogers, as both are running for the Senate seat in Michigan.  El-Sayed refuused to say whether Iran or Israel was a bigger danger to the U.S.  Curious.  Iran has been at war with the U.S. for 47 years.  Taking Americans hostage, killing Americans directly and indirectly through their proxies, and targeting American bases throughout the Middle East.  But El-Sayed said he does not consider Israel an ally (of course not) because he alleges Israel somehow forced us into an unnecessary war with Iran.  Which is nonsense.  Again, every president from Bill Clinton forward said Iran must not be allowed to get nuclear weapons.  I believe Trump's first commentss about Iran not being allowed to get nukes dates back to 2011.

Then we have Barack Obama, who started telling lies about Israel his first year in office.  Obama was in Belfast, and had an interview with a Susan McKay.  Apparently referring to the Jews control over Israel, and the reaction of the Palestinians to that, Obama said "those people understandably said, 'This is injustice, and I want my land back.'"  Thank you Obama for justifying the atrocities committed by Hamas on 10/7.  And screw you!

But this is where the Democrats are.  Remember, Van Hollen expects the U.S. to be on a "collision course" with Israel, our best ally in the Middle East, and one of our best allies in the world.  Idiots like Van Hollen do not realize the loss there would be to America if he gets his way.  Israel is on the front lines fighting the same enemies that are enemies of America.  The U.S. holds joint military operations with Israel.  Israel provides unparalleled intelligence to the U.S., with the Mossad being recognized as one of the premier intelligence agencies in the world.  Together with Israel, the best missile defense systems have been developed (Iron Dome, Arrow, David's Sling).

When Israel receives military hardware from the U.S., do you know what they do?  They improve it.  They make it better.  Only Israel is permitted by the U.S. to "install its own custom software, electonic systems and weapons" (Per AI) onto the F-35 Lightning II (the most advanced fighter jet in the world).  Then the U.S. learns from those modifications.  I could go on and on.  Of course, I need to mention that only Israel is a democracy, with shared values.  No Arab country is considered to be a full democracy.  And many are authoritarian.

So, what is going on?  Why do Democrats, such as Van Hollen and others, want to throw away one of the most valuable relationships that the U.S. has with another country?  I suppose one could argue that they want to weaken America.  There are those, especially in the DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) who believe America is too powerful.  They want to defund the police and the military.  Even though a weaker America makes for a more dangerous world.  And creates a greater danger to the American people.  But maybe the simplest explanation is the best.  It usually is.  Van Hollen and the rest of them are Jew haters.

How else does one explain the complete lack of outrage over 10/7?  How else does one explain that, at best, these people give lip service to the atrocities committed by Hamas - rape, mutilation, torture and murder.  Even of babies, FFS!  How else to explain the lack of reaction to the Palestinians celebrating as they were committing these atrocities.  Yes, they were celebrating - they even filmed themselves celebrating.  This is a complete erasure of Judeo-Christian values in favor of radical Islam.  Why?  Jew hatred.  And, if people like Van Hollen and other Democrats get their way, they will have significantly increased the danger to all of us.

Why Do The Democrats Want To End The U.S. - Israeli Relationship? Part II

It should surprise no one that only 26% of Israelis say they would favor a two-state solution.  (Per a 10/26 Gallup poll.)  The real surprise is why anyone would favor a two-state solution, especially after 10/7.  After all, the Hamas leaders said they plan on carrying out further 10/7 style attacks over and over and over again.  And let's not forget the 10/7 attack targeted civilians.  Most analysts agree that the timing of this attack was meant to dissuade Saudi Arabia from joining the Abraham Accords, as the Saudis seemed to be inching torward joining.  And let's not forget the purpose of terrorism.  It is to terrorize a population.  With attacks in the north from Hezbollah and in the south from Hamas, tens of thousands of Israelis have been displaced from their homes.  But isn't that the goal - get the Jews to leave.

A study by the National Mental Health Barometer in Israel found that 15% of the population personally knew someone killed or injured on 10/7.  Compare that to 9/11 here, with only 4% of Americans knowing someone killed or injured.  That's nearly 4 times more for Israelis.  And what about the psychological effects of 10/7?  32% of women ages 18 to 35 were found to have impaired functioning, as was 20% of the overall population.  20%!  1 in 5!  Symptoms include anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress.  Nearly one-third of the population were found to be clinically diagnosed with depression, anxiety or PTSD.  50% said that 10/7 affected their leisure activities.  35% expressed difficulty in forming and maintaining close relationships.  But none of this is of any concern to Senator Van Hollen.

As one Fatah official said:  "We know the trap we have set for Israel by demanding a two-state solution."  This official claimed that within 20 years of having a state, the Palestinians could have an aircraft industry and industrial sector capable of rivaling Israel's.  At that point:  "In my view, the establishment of a Palestinian state would mean the disappearance of the Israeli entity, and the end of global Zionism."  I have no idea why anyone actually believes the conflict with the Palestinians is about land.  I have repeatedly explained that the Arabs were killing Jews in the British Mandate area in the 1920's.  A part of that land later became Israel.  A larger part of that land became Jordan.  And the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem sided with Hitler and against the United States during WWII.  He wanted to have Hitler help him with the Final Solution - against the Jews in the Mandate.  Before there was an Israel.  Nothing has changed.  Hamas is aiming for the Final Solution still, and that was the purpose of 10/7/23.  10/7 was the true genocide.

Van Hollen is setting the table for how he believes all Democrats must treat Israel.  "The next Democratic president should recognize a state of Palestine that is subject to clear benchmarks, including free and fair elections...the United States should treat Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, as part of Palestine."  Sure, what a great idea.  In the last election, 2007, the people of Gaza elected Hamas as their government.  They have had no further elections.  And the West Bank?  Abbas was elected in 2005 to a four year term, and has held no further elections since.

How is this for a threat against our major ally in the Middle East, and one of our best allies in the world:  "Moving forward will not be easy.  It will place the United States on a collision course with any Israeli government opposed to a Palestinian state."  Only an insane Israeli leader would consider agreeing to a Palestinian state on both their east and southwest borders.  This ass Van Hollen really does not care how many Israelis are killed.  Or if Israel continues to exist.  And, he maligns AIPAC (the American Israel Public Affairs Committee), made up up Jewish Americans who support Israel, along with Christians who also support Israel, for having the nerve to support the one Jewish state in the world.

And, he tells the rank and file Democratic voters what to expect.  And he warns any Democrat what their stance about Israel needs to be.  "Primary voters won't trust any Democratic Presidential candidate who does not have a record of moral and strategic clarity on these issues, especially if, as a legislator, he or she voted to send Mr. Netanyahu bombs even as his government imposed a total blockade on Gaza...nor will they support a candidaate who plans to re-enlist the senior Democratic decision makers who whitewashed the truth during the Biden administration and refuse to acknowledge their complicity."

Wow!  Would Van Hollen like to send former Biden Administration officials to re-education camps?  Like in the Soviet Union or Communist China?  Total blockade on Gaza?  Liar!  If so, how does Hamas manage to get all the automatic weapons, rockets, and all the material to build hundreds of miles of underground tunnels, allowing them to sneak into Israel in order to kill and kidnap Jews.  Total blockade?  Liar!  Hundreds of tons of food have gotten into Gaza, thanks to Israel.  What other country feeds the population of a country that is trying to annihilate them?

And the threat to other Democrats is clear - support the Palestinians and oppose Israel, or else.  To say that he is encouraging Democrats to be aggressively anti-Israel is a gross understatement.  But I'm curious.  In what way has Hamas been an ally of the United States?  In what way have the Palestinians been allies of the United States?  Doesn't matter.  Doesn't matter if Israel is a great ally of ours.  What is important - hate the Jews.

(Note.  I said I would say a few words about Van Hollen speaking at DAWN.  And I also have a few words about other Democrats.  Please see Part III.)

Why Do The Democrats Want To End The U.S.-Israeli Relationship? Part I

(Note.  In previous posts I have discussed how the Democratic Party has moved away from support for Israel.  We've seen it in the way Democrats in Congress vote, with all 45 Democratic Senators voting to block all or some military aid to Israel, while Israel is fighting a multifront war.  We've seen it in the poll numbers showing rank and file Democrats now favoring the Palestinians over Israel.  But now, we have a sitting U.S. Senator openly saying that we need to move away from support for Israel.  Whether he truly knows nothing of the many ways the U.S. benefits from Israel as an ally, or whether he is just an antisemite, I leave up to my readers.  But Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md), who has aspirations to become President, was the keynote speaker at DAWN (Democracy for the Arab World Now), along with other Jew haters.  More on that later.)

Senator Van Hollen penned an Op-Ed for the May 26, 2026 New York Times.  I should not have been shocked upon reading his Op-Ed, knowing how the Democrats no longer favor Israel.  But here was a Democratic U.S. Senator saying it all out loud.  Before I give you some quotes from his Op-Ed, let me be clear.  He says all the usual lies about Israel - being an apartheid state, engaging in ethnic cleansing, engaging in genocide and enforcing collective punishment.  What does he say about Hamas?  NOTHING!  What does he say about October 7, 2023?  NOTHING!  Who does he blame for violence and instability throughout the Middle East?  ISRAEL!  (Technically, he blames the conflict between Israel and the Palestines, but it's Israel's fault for the ongoing conflict.)  (Note.  I avoid the use of expletives in my blog.  I cannot promise I'll be able to refrain here.)

Let's start with this.  Van Hollen:  "The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has ensnared us in violence and caused instability throughout the Middle East."  Oh?  The Lebanese civil war (April, 1975 - October, 1990) was a war involving Muslims and Christians.  There were an estimated 120,000 to 150,000 casualties, with about 1 million people displaced.  Lebanon went from being a Christian run country to a Muslim country.  Hundreds of thousnds of Christians were displaced.  The war between Iran and Iraq lasted from 1980 to 1988.  An estimated 450,000 to 500,000 people were killed, with 1 to 2 million people being wounded.  Then we had the war between Iraq and the U.S. allies.  Over 1 million Christians have been displaced from Iraq.  I guess Senator Van Hollen does not care about Christian deaths and displacement from their homes in the Middle East.  Because the Jews were not involved.

The Syrian civil war (March, 2011 to December 2024) resulted in an estimated 350,00 to 580,000 or more deaths,  Civilian deaths were estimated at 219,000 to 306,000.  13 to 14 million people were displaced, with many people fleeing to nearby countries and to Europe.  The Saudi and Yemen/Houthis war began in 2014.  There have been hundreds of thousands of deaths.  Not to mention what has been described as widespread famine and malnutrition, with many people being displaced.  One estimate has 150,000 people being directly killed, and 377,000 people being killed indirectly.

Sudan, although in Africa, is Middle East adjacent.  That civil war, begun in 2023, resulted in anywhere from 150,000 to over 400,000 deaths.  14 million people were forcibly displaced, with 25 million facing severe issues of food insecurity and famine.  Although not Middle East adjacent, the West African country of Nigeria has seen over 130,000 Christians being killed (murdered), with tens of thousands being abducted.  But that's just Muslims killing Christians again, so need for antisemites to be bothered by any of it.  I would love to ask Senator Van Hollen what Israel or the Israel - Palestinian conflict had to do with any of those conflicts.  After all, he blames Israel for all the instability in the Middle East.  And, of course, I'd like to know why he doesn't seem to give a damn about those conflicts which resulted in many more casualties than the Israeli - Palestinian conflict.

How dare he not mention Hamas?  How dare he not mention that Israel vacated Gaza in 2005.  And that the people of Gaza elected Hamas, a terrorist organization, as their govenment.  He clearly did not discuss the numerous times the Palestinians have been offered a state of their own, starting the same time as when Israel was offered a state, by the UNGA resolution in November, 1947.  He chose not to discuss the billions of dollars in aid that Hamas has received over the years, which would have enabled them to build a productive society in Gaza.  He chose not to ask why they used all their money to build underground tunnels into Israel so that they can kill and kidnap Jews.  And, of course, he did not mention all the wars that Hamas started.

Worst of all, he chose not to mention the events of October 7, 2023.  When thousands of Hamas terrorists entered Israel and brutally raped, tortured and murdered 1200 people - mostly civilians, and took another 251 people as hostages.  They even raped and murdered and took as hostages little babies.  Van Hollen also failed to mention how joyful the Hamas terrorists were while committing their atrocities.  Nor did he mention how the people of Gaza, the so-called innocents, joined in the celebrations of those killed and kidnapped.

Van Hollen is rather explicit in saying how he feels about Israel:  "For decades, we (Democrats) have called for a two-state solution, but we've failed to use our leverage to make it real.  It's past time that we use that leverage to end the occupation and achieve two states with full political and legal rights for all.  That means withdrawing taxpayer support from Israel and conditioning arms sales."  It's a shame that Delaware didn't invade Maryland, rape and torture and murder 1200 people there (maybe some of the Senator's friends or family) and kidnap another 251 people.  I wonder what this idiot Senator would say then.  I can tell you what the Israelis now think of this idea of a two-state solution.  And how October 7 affected them.  (See Part II.)
