Goodbye America, Part I - Some Background

(Caution.  To the extent that I still have readers who are Democrats, thank you.  Before you take offense at the point of this post, I hope you will read it through to the end.)  In my last post, I had expressed concern felt by many Jews as to whether the United States would continue to be the best country in the world, outside of Israel, for the Jewish people.  The reason was obvious.  The evil that was perpetrated by Hamas on October 7 was actually being supported by many people in America - on college campuses, by students and faculty and administrators, by school Board officials, by labor unions, by city councils and even in the US Congress.  It seemed as if evil was everywhere.  

I had previously written several posts about the threat posed by the Democratic Party to our democracy.  For a refresher, see the 4/19/18 post "Who Are The Real Threats To Our Democracy," the 10/17/21 post "The True Threat To Our Democracy - The Tyranny Of The Democrats," and the 12/31/22 post "New Year Reflections, Part I - Here Is The True Threat To Our Freedoms and Democracy."  I understand very well that the common line cited by all Democrats is that Trump/MAGA Republicans are an existential threat to our democracy.  But they always excuse the tactics used by their own party.  

The Democrats are bullies.  For some time it has been a party that is determined to stay in power at all costs.  A party that is determined to get its way on their policies at all costs.  Some do what they do for power.  Others have adopted the attitude that their cause is the just cause, and therefore the ends justify the means.  An example.  In 2012, Barack Obama was running for reelection against Mitt Romney.  Romney was probably one of the most honest politicians to ever run for president.  Harry Reid (D-NV) was the Senate Majority Leader.  From the Senate floor before the election, in August of 2012, Reid said:  "So the word is out that he (Romney) has not paid any taxes for ten years.  Let him prove that he has paid taxes, because he hasn't."

The claim was completely false, and Romney did prove it with his tax returns.  Besides, Reid should have had no way of obtaining Romney's tax returns, as the IRS does not release them to anyone (other than a court).  Was Reid prosecuted for his intentional misrepresentation, in an effort to get Obama reelected?  Of course not.  Years later, Reid was asked about being criticized for his falsehoods about Romney.  Did he have any regrets about his comments?  Reid:  "I don't regret that at all.  Romney didn't win, did he?"  There it is - the ends justify the means.  Keep Obama and the Democrats in power at all costs, no matter how outrageous the lie.  Reid alleged that Romney, a decent man, had committed multiple felonies by not paying taxes.  Just evil.    

In 2020, the Supreme Court was considering an abortion case.  Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was the Senate Minority Leader.  Attending a pro-abortion rally outside the Court, Schumer threatened two of the Justices.  "I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price - you won't know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions."  Of course, Democrats have continued to threaten the Court, as they are very unhappy with the conservative majority on the Court.  The ends justify the means.    

In 2016, Hillary Clinton hired a law firm, Perkins Coie, which in turn hired Fusion GPS, to obtain "opposition research" on Trump.  We know that the result was the fabricated Steele dossier.  Did the lack of verification for the information in that dossier prevent the Clinton campaign from using it during the campaign?  No, because the ends justify the means for these Democrats.  The Democrats continued to use that phony dossier in an effort to remove Trump from office.  Adam Schiff continually told the American people that he had evidence of Trump and Russian collusion.  Until he didn't.  Just evil.

In 2024, Democrats in various states came up with a new way to defeat Trump BEFORE the election.  "Let's just keep him off the ballot!"  The Democrats on the Colorado Supreme Court decided that was perfectly fine.  A state judge in Illinois agreed, as did the Maine Secretary of State.  All Democrats.  Why take a chance, when Trump appears to be quite popular and Biden does not.  The US Supreme Court, in a 9-0 decision, put a stop to that nonsense.  Imagine 50 states, with 50 different rules about who can run for president.  Just saying it makes the insanity of it apparent.  But, the ends justify the means for the Democrats.  This assault on our democracy, on our Republic, was just evil.   

Also in 2024, we have Biden's blatant attempt to buy the votes of younger people, many of whom are unhappy with his handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict.  Biden asserted that Republicans were trying to prevent him from his following through with his student loan forgiveness program.  But it wasn't Republicans.  It was the Supreme Court of the United States which told him he had no authority to do that.  But that has not stopped Biden.  Imagine if Trump, or any Republican, took actions that the Supreme Court ruled he could not do.  But for Biden and the Democrats, the ends justify the means.

We know that the Democrats open border policy is done with the expectation that the vast majority of those entering the country illegally will end up being Democratic voters.  How much do the Democrats care about violent criminals coming into the country?  How much do the Democrats care about all the drugs and fentanyl coming into the country?  How much do the Democrats care about the health and safety of the American people?  The answer to these questions is "not very much."  Because they are seeking to have permanent power.  They are seeking a one party system of government, with the Democrats always being that party in power.  A President's first, and most important, obligation is the protection of the American people.  Biden's willingness to forego that, in order to keep the Democrats in power, is just evil.

A Brief History of Antisemitism in America

(Note.  Much of the information in this post comes from an article by Seth Mandel in the May, 2024 edition of Commentary magazine.  Obviously, the personal history is mine.)  Unlike many of my fellow Jews on the left, who have long thought that we are still in the America of the 1930's and 1940's, I have often said that the United States is, outside of Israel, the best country in the world for the Jewish people.  However, recent events after October 7, have made many Jews of all political persuasions, express concern about whether the United States will continue to be that beacon of light.  For all people.  

In the 1930's, Jews were often not welcome in many institutions.  The elite universities put quotas on the number of Jewish students who would be admitted each year.  Restrictive covenants in deeds to houses not only forbade the sale of those properties to blacks, but often to Jews as well.  Country clubs and other private clubs barred Jews from joining.  Mandel reports that "the student body at Columbia's College of Physicians went from 50 percent Jewish to 6 percent, the latter number soon becoming the new average at medical schools."  

My very first job as a new attorney was at a primarily Jewish law firm, Rose Klein & Marias.  The firm started when Victor Rose, in 1936, opened his law office.  Alfred Klein joined him in 1940, and then Eugene Marias joined in 1946.  When I joined the firm in January, 1978, Gene Marias was already considered one of, if not the most, preeminent attorney representing injured workers in California workers compensation claims.  The firm also handled personal injury cases, as well as labor law.  Insurance companies defending workers compensation claims were, back when the firm started, not particularly interested in having Jewish attorneys represent them.  

I still remember, very shortly after I joined the firm, Gene Marias coming into my office and asking me to get up from my desk and walk over to the window with him.  Putting his arm around me, he pointed to the building across the street and asked me if I knew what it was.  I had no idea.  He explained that it was a private club, with membership being by invitation only.  As a young attorney, he received a call from the club advising him that someone had suggested him for membership.  He replied:  "do you know that I'm Jewish?"  The caller simply said "thank you," and then hung up.  Gene's reaction to that call is not printable here.  

Similarly, when Jews were barred from country clubs, they started their own.  Of note is Hillcrest Country Club in West Los Angeles.  When I was interviewing for my first legal job, I recall the attorney at one firm asking me what kind of name was my last name, and where my family came from.  I could tell immediately what he was getting at.  But Jews have never considered themselves to be "victims."  If they needed to work harder, they did.  If they needed to set up their own law firms and businesses and private clubs, they did.  

But today feels different.  It is no longer either the subtle, or even blatant antisemitism of the past.  Today, it is outright Jew hatred.  At an Oakland City Council meeting, one speaker claimed that "Israel murdered their own people on October 7."  Another said that "the notion that this was a massacre of Jews is a fabricated narrative."  I'm guessing that these people do not believe the Holocaust was a real event.  But now they are out there in public.  And, of course, we see signs, and hear chants, of "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free."  That phrase calls for the elimination of the one Jewish state in the world.    

Today, cities and school districts are passing resolutions in support of the Palestinians.  But, by ignoring the atrocities committed on October 7, these entities are actually supporting Hamas, a designated terrorist organization.  Mandel reports that the Massachusetts Teachers Association planned a curriculum "around 'Israel and Occupied Palestine.'"  It also passed a resolution asking the President to "stop funding and sending weapons in support of the Netanyahu government's genocidal war on the Palestinian people in Gaza."  What about the genocidal acts by Hamas on 10/7?  What about the expressed intentions of Hamas to continue to commit atrocities, such as those committed on 10/7, over and over and over again.

It is important that everyone understand this point by Mandel:  "...it must be stressed that these are public bodies and public schools giving Jew-baiting the imprimatur of the government."  My college alma mater, Rutgers, has proven to be one of the worst of the Jew-hating universities.  Rutgers is the state university of New Jersey.  The Rutgers president was called to testify before Congress, along with the chancellor of UCLA and the president of Northwestern.  The pro-Hamas crowd at Rutgers made 10 demands of the university, before they would agree to dismantle their encampment.  The president agreed to eight, and said the university would consider the other two.  Spineless administrators usually prefer appeasement as a course of action.  

According to Mandel, one Rutgers professor, having tenure no less, gave a lecture in which she asserted that "Israel harvests Palestinian organs."  There is almost no lie that Jew-haters will not tell.  A week or two ago I saw a Rutgers student on one of the cable news shows.  He said the pro-Hamas encampment had signs saying "Fuck the Jews."  It is outrageous that the university would permit such signs to be displayed longer than the time it would take to remove them.  UCLA, my law school alma mater, has been another offender.  Mandel reports that the medical school "required its students to attend a lecture at which the speaker, masked and with her shoulders wrapped in a kaffiyeh, led the class in chants of "Free, free Palestine!"  

According to Mandel, the UC Berkeley Law School has been sued for civil rights violations.  The suit alleges that "no fewer than 23 Berkeley Law student organizations have enacted policies to discriminate against and exclude Jewish students, faculty, and scholars."  Some student groups, per Mandel, require applicants to support the BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanction) movement against Israel.  Some will not accept any speaker unless they "repudiate Zionism."  Antisemitism today is often disguised as anti-Zionism.  Yet, Zionism is nothing other than the belief that the Jewish people are entitled to have their own homeland, their historic homeland.  And, Berkeley is a public university.  

In the 1930's and after, Jews would often change their last names, in order to have them sound more Americanized.  In order to fit in.  Today, Jews are also hiding their Jewish identity in public.  They avoid any outward use of obvious Jewish clothing (such as a yarmulke) and symbols (such as the Star of David).  So, the question is - is America back where it was nearly 100 years ago?  Will America continue to be the best country for the Jewish people, outside of Israel?    

Mandel:  "It is monstrous that even in the America of 2024, Jews must fight for the rights and recognition that others can take for granted."  

(It seems that I continue to face criticism for being so vocal, some would say obsessed with "politics."  After October 7, most of my posts have been about Israel, and the war with Hamas, and the rising antisemitism in this country.  Here is a quote by Rabbi Abraham Kook, that explains my admitted compulsion after 10/7 to speak out on behalf of Israel and the Jewish people:  "I don't speak because I have the power to speak; I speak because I don't have the luxury to remain silent."  As far as I am concerned, no Jew should currently feel that they have the luxury to remain silent.)  

President Joe Biden's America

No, this post is not about the anywhere from 8 to 10 million people who have entered the country illegally during Biden's term in office.  People who the Democrats expect to vote Democrat.  Nor is this post about Biden's buying votes with his student loan forgiveness, having forgiven over $20 billion in loans just this year.  Biden:  "I will never stop working to cancel student debt - no matter how many times Republican elected officials try to stop us."  Actually, it was the Supreme Court of the United States that told him he had no legal authority to cancel student debt.  But that has not deterred him.

This post is not about the horribly tragic exit from Afghanistan, orchestrated by Biden.  It is not about Russia invading Ukraine under his watch (as also happened under Obama).  It is not about Hamas attacking Israel under his watch (as also happened under Obama).  It is not even about the withholding of weaponry from Israel in the middle of Israel's war with Hamas.  Nor is it about his Administration telling Israel to get of Gaza.  Even though Israel is trying to find the hostages, including the Americans, still being held by Hamas.

No, this post is about how Biden views the United States of America.  In his commencement address to the graduating students at Morehouse College (one of the HBCU colleges), Biden painted a dark picture of America.  Biden:  "You started college just as George Floyd was murdered and there was a reckoning on race.  It's natural to wonder if democracy you hear about actually works for you.  What is democracy if Black men are being killed in the street?"

Why in the world did George Floyd have to come up.  He was a convicted criminal.  Biden was speaking to a group of accomplished young men.  That wasn't George Floyd.  As Jason Riley wrote in a 5/22/24 Op-Ed in the WSJ:  "...using a convicted felon and drug addict as a poster child for black men in this country is deeply insulting."  It is.  But it also reminiscent of Biden's racist comment in 2020, on the radio show of Charlamagne tha G-d:  "if you have a problem figuring out whether to vote for me or Trump, then you ain't black."  That's Biden, essentially calling anyone who might vote for Trump an "Uncle Tom."  A race traitor.  It is, and was, grotesque.  

But, in Biden's America, people are not individuals, they are part of groups.  More importantly, they are part of voting blocs.  Biden tells this graduating group that "Black men are being killed in the street."  Yes, the criminal George Floyd was killed in the street.  But, to the extent Black men are being killed in the street, it is overwhelmingly by other Black men.  It is not because of "white supremacy."  

Biden:  "What is democracy if a trail of broken promises still leave Black - Black communities behind?  What is democracy if you have to be 10 times better than anyone else to get a fair shot?"  What a depressing speech.  I have long held that any leader who says, or even suggests, to young people that  society is stacked against them, whether based on their race or anything else, is evil, and is speaking evil.  Here was a better message:  "...your generation is uniquely poised for success unlike any generation of African-Americans that came before it."  That was actually Barack Obama, who also told the then graduating students at Morehouse that they should not use any racism or discrimination as a crutch.  

Biden:  "And most of all, what does it mean, as we've heard before, to be a Black man who loves his country even if it doesn't love him back in equal measure?"  Wasn't Biden the one who promised in his inaugural address to be a unifying president?  Wasn't that the entire focus of that speech?  Well, if the country hates Black America (clearly the inference one could draw), then would it not be reasonable for Black men to hate the country?  Just a detestable speech.  But think about it.  Think about what it says about how the President of the United States views the country he leads.   

I cannot help but to feel bad for those graduating students, and their families, for having to listen to that speech.  It is generally understood that college commencement addresses are to be uplifting, meant to encourage young people as they are about to enter the working world, or go on to earn advanced degrees.  This is yet another occasion when Biden failed to say the right things.  But, it does tell us a whole lot about Biden's America.

A Reply To The Last Comment (Sorta), About Why Jews Vote Democrat

(Note:  On the April 28, 2024, post, a friend/reader asked me:  "As a Jew, I'd like to see you a write a post on why the Jews continue to overwhelmingly support the Democrat party!"  This post is an effort to address that...sort of.)

Let's start with former President Barack Obama.  In July, 2009, his first year in office, he was reported to have said:  "Look at the past eight years.  During those eight years, there was no space between us and Israel, and what did we get from that?  When there is no daylight, Israel just sits on the sidelines, and that erodes our credibility with the Arab states."  It was one big, fat lie.  In 2000, President Bill Clinton invited then Israeli P.M. Ehud Barak, along with P.A. President Yasser Arafat, to the White House.  Israel offered to give up land won in the 1967 war, in order to create a Palestinian state. 

Arafat refused, returned to Ramallah, and started the Second Intifada.  That lasted from 9/28/00 to 2/8/05.  Israel was not sitting on the sidelines during that time.  Israel was trying to defend against the murderous Palestinian attacks (often by so-called suicide bombers) that ended up killing over 1000 Israelis.  But the problem was Israel??!!  Let's not forget to mention Obama's mistreatment of, and complaints about, Netanyahu.  Did Obama's lies or mistreatment of Netanyahu deter my fellow Jews on the left from voting for Obama a second time?  Of course not.

Fast forward to Obama's last full month in office, December, 2016.  Obama in coordination with New Zealand, pushed a UN Security Council resolution that passed 14-0, with the US (holding a veto power) abstaining.  This resolution set forth the parameters of a Palestinian state, based on the so-called pre-1967 borders.  The result was declaring that the Old City of Jerusalem, home to the two holiest sites in Judaism (the Temple Mount and the Kotel aka Western Wall) would be in Palestinian territory.  Did this outrageous concession by Obama deter my fellow Jews on the left from wishing that Obama could run for a third term?  Absolutely not.  In fact, I just heard from a left-wing fellow Jew the other day, telling me he would happily vote for Obama again.

It appears that my fellow Jews on the left got their wish for a third Obama term - on steroids.  Current Secretary of State Antony Blinken was Obama's Deputy National Security Advisor, and then became Obama's Deputy Secretary of State.  Current National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan was Obama's Director of Policy Planning for a couple of years, before becoming then VP Biden's National Security Advisor.  

But hasn't Biden supported Israel after the brutal attack by Hamas on October 7?  Yes, he did.  But now elections are coming up.  Top serving Jewish official in our government, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, called for new elections in Israel, essentially saying that Netanyahu had to go.  Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi subsequently chimed in, calling for Netanyahu to resign.  Just how outrageous is that?  Senior members of Congress calling for the duly elected, democratically elected, leader of a key ally, to be removed from office.  I have zero doubt that Schumer and Pelosi coordinated their remarks with the Biden White House.  Will those kinds of outrageous and unprecedented comments deter my fellow Jews on the left from voting for Biden in November?  Don't be silly.

Now, in Gaza, Israel has Hamas on the ropes.  It is said that Hamas has 4 remaining battalions, all in Rafah, in Southern Gaza.  Israel has delayed major operations there, undoubtedly under pressure from Biden.  Now, Biden held up arms to Israel, in the middle of their war.  Arms that were voted on and duly authorized by Congress.  Now, Blinken says that Israel needs to "get out of Gaza."  So, Israel needs to allow Hamas to continue to control Gaza.  The same Hamas that has promised to attack Israel, as they did on October 7, over and over and over again.  Will that deter my fellow Jews on the left from voting for Biden again?  Don't count on it.  

What about the widespread demonstrations on college campuses and in our cities?  We have seen Jews harassed and attacked both verbally and physically.  Hasn't any of this gotten the attention of my fellow Jews of all political persuasions?  Actually, it has.  But do I believe it will change votes?  Let's be clear.  The individuals and groups funding these protesters are assuredly Democrats, or vote Democrat.  The university administrators and faculty supporting these protesters are undoubtedly Democrats, or vote Democrat.  Then we have the Democrat members of Congress supporting the protesters and pro-Hamas crowd.  And following my last post, a critique of Biden's poor performance in a speech addressing antisemitism, I was advised by quite a few fellow Jews about how good a speech it was.  

So, do I expect people unhappy with the protests to vote Republican?  Not likely.  Why?  Abortion and Trump.  Trump is roundly detested by many of my fellow Jews.  They give Trump no credit for being the best president ever for Israel and the Jewish people.  Biden reinstated funding to UNRWA, the UN agency in Gaza that works hand in glove with Hamas.  Trump had cut off that funding.  Trump cut off money to Iran.  Biden released that money.  Does supplying money to groups that turn around and use that money on weapons to kill Jews in Israel make any difference to many of my fellow Jews?  Unlikely.  

So what will make a difference?  Sorry, but I have no idea.

The President Finally Speaks

President Biden gave a short statement this morning about the violent protests on college campuses that have been directed at Israel and the Jewish people.  Someone timed the speech at being 3 minutes and 15 seconds in length.  While I did not vote for Biden, and I am not a fan, I did give him credit for supporting Israel with funding and armaments in Israel's war against Hamas.  But now, we are talking about events occurring here - in the United States of America.  I was hoping for a substantial speech, during prime time, from the oval office.  Not 3.25 minutes in the morning, when people are busy at work.

What about the substance of the speech?  First, he defended peaceful protest, as part of our First Amendment rights.  Biden:  "Dissent is essential to democracy."  Then he said violent protests, however, are unlawful.  Fine, but that is simply stating the obvious.  What about the rising tide of antisemitism, of actual Jew hatred, of calling for the deaths of Jews?  

Biden:  "There should be no place on any campus, no place in America for antisemitism or threats of violence against Jewish students."  Wait...that's it?  That's all the moral outrage you can muster, Mr. President?  Are you kidding me?  

What about all the students wearing keffiyehs?  They say they support Hamas.  Some say "we are Hamas."  Hamas is a terrorist organization, so designated by our country.  Hamas is still holding American citizens as hostages.  Some of these students say that the events of October 7 will be repeated thousands of times.  They call for intifada here, in the USA.  The intifadas against Israel resulted in the deaths of well over 1000 Israelis.  

These protesters call all Jews colonizers and supporters of genocide, when it is Hamas that has openly committed itself to the genocide of the Jewish people.  These protesters support Hamas, therefore they support the genocide of the Jewish people.  And you have nothing to say about that, Mr. President?  Because you are concerned that these evil, immoral people may not vote for you if you condemn them?  You know damn well, Mr. President, that if these kinds of threats were being made against blacks, gays, trans or any other minority, we would have seen an angry Joe Biden.

In fact, we would have heard how you have directed Attorney General Merrick Garland, along with FBI Director Christopher Wray, to pursue civil rights violations against some of these protesters.  Because we know that, unlike local DAs, who often will not even charge these people, federal offenses carry a potentially lengthy prison sentence.  You directed the DOJ and FBI to investigate parents who showed up at school board meetings, because those parents objected to some of the nonsense woke teachings being pushed on their children.  But threats against Jews?  You couldn't be bothered?

Here is the rest of what Biden said:  "There is no place for hate speech or violence of any kind, whether it's antisemitism, Islamophobia, or discrimination against Arab-Americans or Palestinian Americans.  It's simply wrong.  There's no place for racism in America.  It's all wrong.  It's un-American."  There it is.  The left's need to always include every other conceivable type of "hate," because for some reason hate against the Jews can never stand by itself.  "Islamophobia...discrimination against Arab-Americans or Palestinian Americans...racism."  

There are nationwide protests against Israel, with hatred being directed against Jewish students and the Jewish people.  It is organized.  It is clearly well funded.  Have you directed your DHS, DOJ and FBI to investigate the source of that funding, Mr. President?  There are no such nationwide protests against Arab Americans or Palestinian Americans.  Jews are 2% of the US population, yet we are the victims of religious hate crimes in over 50% of the cases.  Stop pretending there is some type of equivalency, Mr. President.  It's disgusting, and demeaning to the Jewish people.   

When I heard that Biden may be bringing people from Gaza here to the USA, I was rather shocked.  I mentioned to one left-wing fellow Jew that Biden may bring "more Jew haters here."  I was rebuffed.  How dare I suggest that all Gazans are Jew haters.  Over 70% of Gazans said they supported Hamas and the October 7 attack.  Generations of Gazans have been taught in UNRWA schools to hate Jews.  This left-wing Jew is living in a dream world.  If only 50%, nay 25%, of the people of Gaza support Hamas and hate Jews, why would any sane person want them here?  Why would any Jew?  

A final note.  In my last post I asked "Where Is The Outrage!"  I sense that some people question why I do what I do.  The blog.  The letters to the editor.  The letters to left-wing professors.  I cannot explain it any better than this quote by Edward Hale:  "I am only one, but I am one.  I cannot do everything, but I can do something.  And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do."

Where Is The Outrage! Part II

So just where are our leaders?  While some Democrats have stepped up, others have been woefully disappointing.  Former President Barack Obama graduated from Columbia.  I haven't seen or heard anything from him condemning the hate speech and threats against Jews?  Has anyone?  Recall that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer recently called for elections in Israel, suggesting it was time for Netanyahu to go?  Aside from the obvious election interference in another country's elections, the clear inference was that Israel, not Hamas, was the impediment to peace.

Now we have comments from former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.  "We recognize Israel's right to protect itself.  We reject the policy and practice of Netanyahu.  Terrible.  What could be worse than what he has done in response...he should resign."  She also said Netanyahu has been a "block" to peace "for years."   She now thinks that Biden should halt weapons transfers to Israel.  In the middle of a war Israel is fighting for its very existence!  I guess it's a good thing she was not an adviser to Roosevelt or Truman during WWII.  She would not have approved of the attacks on Germany and Japan.  

Pelosi:  "...he (Netanyahu) has been an obstacle to the two-state solution, and I emphasize the word, 'solution.'"  She is either ignorant or lying.  Time after time the Palestinians have been offered a state...going back to 1947.  Time after time they have refused.  They have made it clear that they will not accept a state as long as Israel exists.  What Hamas does say is "from the river to the sea" will be  "Palestine."  In other words, no Israel.  What Hamas does say, is that they will repeat the events of October 7 "over and over and over again."  Why isn't she talking about the hostages, some of whom are American?  Why isn't she talking about the growing Jew hatred in her country?

Remember how Biden said he was motivated to run in 2020 after Trump said there were "very fine people on both sides," with regards to Charlottesville?  (Trump belatedly explained that he was talking about the issue regarding the confederate statue, not the Neo-Nazi protesters.)  Well, here was Biden when he was asked about the protests on college campuses nationwide:  "I condemn the antisemitic protests.  That's why I've set up a program to deal with that.  I also condemn those who don't understand what's going on with the Palestinians."  WHAT?!!

Did Biden just draw a moral equivalency between Israel and Hamas?  You bet he did!  There is no possible justification for the events of October 7...for the rape, mutilation and torture of women, and the murder and torture of innocent men, women, children and babies.  That is what Hamas did.  There is plenty of justification for Israel fighting back.  We repeatedly hear that 33.000 Palestinians have been killed by the Israelis.  I do not know if that is an accurate number, as it undoubtedly is provided by Hamas.  Even assuming it is correct, how many of those were Hamas terrorists?  Whatever the number, how does it differ from other wars?  For many years I have pointed out that for the D-MSMC (Democratic-Mainstream Media Complex) it's always a numbers game.  They never seem to be happy unless more Jews are also killed.   

But here is one political leader who has not lost his moral compass - Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson.  Speaking at Columbia this past week, here is some of what Speaker Johnson said.  "Today, Hamas issued an endorsement statement of the protesters on this campus.  They called them the future leaders of America.  It is detestable."  Detestable!  Some outrage!  Finally!  Johnson:  "Antisemitism has been growing in America and it's clear why.  Powerful people have refused to condemn it, and some have even it peddled it themselves."  Indeed.

Here is the problem for Biden and the Democrats.  They feel the need to make the moral equivalency argument, or just stay silent, so as not to offend their base.  But how despicable that they would want any of these anti-Israel, anti-American, Jew hating protesters to be part of their party.  Why did Biden have to wait to be asked to make a comment?  He's the President!  Why wasn't he out there making a strong statement condemning these Jew hating protesters?

This line about Columbia being private property is bull.  The police go onto private property all the time in order to protect people.  And if the police are outnumbered, call in the State Police.  If still outnumbered, the Governor of New York should call out the National Guard.  They would clear the area.  And if the Governor refuses, then Biden has the right to federalize the Guard, and order them to clear out the campus from these obstructors.  But he has to worry about the two-state solution - Michigan and Minnesota.  

(Oh.  You want to know what Trump said?  "What's going on at the college level and the colleges - Columbia, NYU and others - is a disgrace.  And it's really on Biden.  He has the wrong signal.  He's got the wrong tone.  He's got the wrong words.  He doesn't know who he's backing.  And it's a mess."  And:  "What's going on is a disgrace to our country."  I could not agree more.)   

Where Is The Outrage! Part I

Honestly, I don't know what it will take.  What will it take for our political leaders, and university presidents and professors, to speak with one voice.  This is no longer antisemitism.  This is Jew hatred!  When they say "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," they are calling for the end of Israel at best, and genocide of the Jewish people at worst.  When university presidents were unable to state that calling for the genocide of Jews "might" violate university speech codes, depending on the context...where is the outrage?  

Has everyone seen what is happening at Columbia University in NYC, Columbia being one of the elite Ivy League schools.  While pro-Hamas obstructors have seemingly taken over the university, the Jewish students were told to stay home and attend class remotely.  WHAT?  This is how it works?  Pro-Hamas thugs intimidate and threaten Jewish students, but instead of removing the thugs from campus, the Jewish students are told to vacate the campus.  Where should Jews be excluded from next?  

How lovely to see students yelling "we are Hamas," and a sign that says "Final Solution."  That was Hitler's idea.  So, maybe not unreasonable to refer to these young storm troopers as Hitler youth.  At the University of Texas, in Austin, one student yelled "Fuck you, Zionist Nazi bastard (might have been bitch)."  And "Go back to Germany."  Then we had the student at Columbia with her YouTube or TikTok video saying this:  "Zionists don't deserve to live."  And:  "I feel very comfortable, very comfortable, calling for those people to die."  

Remember when conservative speakers were not allowed to speak at many college campuses because it made the left-wing students feel "unsafe."  Those speakers weren't invited there to threaten anyone.  But the left-wing students, and some of the professors, said that conservative speech equated to violence.  Now, we have actual threats of violence against Jewish students, and even calls for the genocide of the Jewish people, and that's okay?  That has to be tolerated as "free speech?"  Where is the outrage!  

You don't think that young people at colleges across the country are being brainwashed?  How else do you account for the sick, evil comments made be these students?  How else can you account for seeing all the Hamas flags and Hezbollah flags?  How else can you account for all these students wearing the Arab keffiyeh scarf?  And how else can you account for one student saying that the events of October 7 will happen "10,000 more times."  They want to see men, women, children and babies raped, tortured and murdered, 10,000 more times!  Where is the outrage, dammit!

You doubt that these students are being brainwashed?  MEMRI (the Middle East Media Research Institute) has documented the connections between Hamas and Hezbollah and the Houthis - with these college students.  They brag about how many young people now support Hamas.  They brag about how many adults are also buying into their propaganda, with the expectation that it will result in a change of American policy (and other countries' policies) towards Israel.  

You need to understand that these terrorist organizations are in contact with student "leaders" here.  One Hezbollah leader encouraged these Western "activists," students and non-students alike, to stand "together, one front" against Israel, and against the U.S. and "Western hegemony and imperialism."  

Our country is at a crossroads.  Will we tolerate the shutting down of our universities?  Will we tolerate threats to Jewish students?  Will we tolerate community "activists" blocking highways, bridges, airports and train stations?  Make no mistake...they expect the American people to tire of it...and to turn on Israel.

Where are our leaders?  Are they defending Israel, our main ally in the Middle East, and one of our main allies in the world?   Israel is the sole democracy in the Middle East.  Israel is the only true multicultural and multi-religious country in the Middle East.  Israel is the only country to have a yearly Gay Pride parade in the Middle East.  So, where are our leaders?  See Part II.
